I wonder what he specifically had in mind when he wrote this. I tend to think of the PC brigade and the food police as fairly recent developements, not to mention the earth saver green men. I wonder what he was thinking about. He was certainly still allowed to smoke in pubs. Yes, I think Lewis would be quite saddened by the present England.
